The musical, directed by Edison “Jingle” Saynes” and written by Jude Gitamondoc and Rowell “Medyo Maldito” Ucat, premiered in 2015 to rave reviews. It has since been staged in CAP Theater Cebu, SM Seaside City Cebu (Official), Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, Lahug, and most recently at the BGC Arts Center.
Shiella Pestaño Gemperoa, who plays the wisecracking fan-favorite Lola Lucy, earned the well-deserved Best Featured Actress in a Musical recognition. Following a hiatus from 2006-2013, she is back in the industry, with Lola Lucy being her comeback acting role.
The talented Von Saw, who portrays the Bisrocker Undo, was an honorable mention as Best Featured Actor in a Musical. Von is a recording artist whose song, “Sa Akong Heart” (also featured in the musical), won Regional Song of the Year at the MOR Pinoy Music Awards in 2015. He was also awarded Youth of the Year at the ABS-CBN Magtv NA Official Viewer’s Choice Awards in the same year.
Lourdes May Maglinte, who portrays Inday, was an honorable mention for Best Actress in a Musical. Lourdes is a modern folk and pop artist who also plays the guitar and the ukulele. Under 22 Tango Records, she released her single “Empty Sheets (feat. Kyle Wong)” in 2016, hot on the heels of winning the Vispop 3.0 Grand Prize for her original composition, “Buwag Balik.”
Award-winning songwriter Gitamondoc also adds a citation as one of the Artistic and Technical Standouts for Musical Direction. His songs have been recorded by artists such as Gary Valenciano, Regine Velasquez, and Piolo Pascual. His biggest hit is the viral sensation “HAHAHAHasula“, also co-written with Ucat. Through Kadasig and Vispop, Jude is focused on uplifting and empowering the Bisaya songwriting community.
